The diaphragm accumulator consists of a fluid section and a gas section with the diaphragm acting as a gas-proof screen. The fluid section is connected with the hydraulic circuit so that the diaphragm accumulator takes in fluid when pressure increases and the gas is compressed. When the pressure drops, the compressed gas expands and forces the stored fluid into the circuit.
The diaphragm accumulator is regarded as a non-repairable unit.
